Hospital Hygiene Preventing Emissions
HOPE is a collaborative initiative between the University of Göttingen, Sana Clinics, and Procycons (Life Cycle Assessment experts).
The project focuses on reducing hospital-related emissions associated with infection prevention and control—without compromising patient safety or the quality of care. By integrating infection control standards with sustainability analysis through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), HOPE will evaluate and promote environmentally responsible measures that maintain high healthcare standards.
How do you design for both clinical precision and sustainability—two worlds that rarely overlap visually? The challenge was to create a brand language that feels intelligent, reliable, and data-driven, yet also progressive, fresh, and grounded in environmental values.
The result is a brand identity that doesn’t just “look medical” or “feel green”—it embodies a systemic shift in healthcare thinking. A quiet confidence. A commitment to both safety and sustainability. A visual voice for a better future in healthcare.
The design balances structured, medical-inspired elements with organic tones and space.
Process
The project began with drafting a concise brief and analyzing industry logos for reference.
A significant part of this project involved drawing on my iPad, which enabled me to create more fluid and organic shapes. I explored a wide range of logo concepts, including outline-based designs and creative variations incorporating the "+" symbol—commonly associated with hospitals—as well as references to CO₂ to highlight the project's environmental focus.
